Team Wins 2nd State Cup Title Earning Trip to FWR in Hawaii

LAKESIDE SOCCER COMPLEX, VINEYARD, UT (November 3, 2007) - Sparta 93 Premier won their 2nd State Cup Championship this year. They also won in 2006.
Match Recap
It was a very hard fought match and both teams created scoring opportunities in the first half without success. The score at half time was 0-0. The second half started with La Roca creating great shot opportunities on goal, but Sparta's goalkeeper, Camree Gautavai, came up with some big saves to keep the game level. Sparta's first goal came mid-way through the second half. A great run and cross from Manuel Duenas was met by a spectacular diving header from Adam Talbot. Sparta's second goal came five minutes later when a through pass from Marlo Matamoros found James Rogers who turned and smashed it home from 20 yards.

"We had a great tournament going undefeated, scoring 27 and only conceding 2 goals. Great job boys lets go do it at Regionals, I hear Hawaii is lovely in June. "
